Tienne McKenzie
Chief Operating Officer
Personal Experience
Tienne McKenzie has been a foundational part of The McKenzie Law Firm since its inception. As the wife of founder Dan McKenzie and a co-architect of the firm's growth, Tienne brings a perspective that no outside hire could replicate — she has lived every stage of the firm's evolution and helped build the systems and culture that define it today.
In her role as Chief Operating Officer, Tienne oversees the firm's day-to-day operations, ensuring that every department runs efficiently, every client is served at the highest level, and every team member has the support they need to do their best work. Her focus is on the internal infrastructure that allows the firm to scale: process development, staff management, and the operational systems that turn a great legal practice into a great business.
Tienne graduated with honors from the University of Michigan in 1998 with a background in international affairs and went on to work in Washington, D.C., where she produced a monthly policy newsletter for InterAction, a leading coalition of international non-governmental organizations. She later worked in the legal department of the Jane Addams Hull House Association in Chicago, experience that grounded her early in the intersection of legal process, organizational management, and human service.
Outside the office, Tienne is an active community volunteer and is passionate about literature, nutrition, and social justice.
